I have a wide variety of interests. I enjoy being at the intersection of biology, genetics, neuroscience, and behaviour. I frequently take on ambitious projects and with the right support from people and resources we often produce very exciting results.
I currently am enjoying cephalopod research investigating how these amazing animals go about their daily business of catching prey, as well as how they are controlling their skin for signalling and camouflage while interacting with mates, finding food and avoiding being eaten!
I am also excited about finding how the brain processes and uses colour information. This is a very challenging problem to solve in insects as they cannot tell us what they are thinking or even seeing. We are making progress but we need more collaborators and researchers.
